Cristina Goodfellow is a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. In March, she received difficult news after having severe abdominal pain which sent her to the hospital. The local hospital realized they were not equipped to handle her case and sent her to Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. It was there, after many tests, they diagnosed Cristina with Pancreatic Cancer. After beginning a rigorious chemotherapy process, Cristina was very ill and the side effects were debilitating. Having had researched Cancer after diagnosis, she decided to take a different approach. After seeking Holistic treatment, not only was she feeling considerably better, her tumor numbers were dropping and overall her body was reacting very well to treatment.
After a few months of success, Cristina started experiencing severe pain in her abdomen again. She wasn't able to keep food down and had to return to the hospital. During this stay, they re-inserted a stint to help drain her Bilary duct. After a few days at home she was contacted by the Head Surgeon in the evening and asked to return for more tests. Today, November 22, 2017, Cristina will spend her 8th night in the hospital. After many, many, many tests, doctors believe it was never Pancreatic Cancer. They now feel it was most likely Stomach Cancer all along. In addition to this news, they learned she has a blood clot in her leg and a tumor causing a seperation of her lung tissue. Fluid is building up and she is required to be on oxygen.
Cristina and Brad have amazing family and friends. They are so grateful for those who have offered help and support over the last 8 months. Brad has used all of his time banks to be able to support their family during this time while continuing to work and pick up overtime to make ends meet. Every day poses a different challenge, including travel to and from Los Angeles, even seeking treatment in Idaho.
They have 2 of 3 children in school trying to maintain everyday life. This family has exhausted many resources and the future will most certainly add more expenses to the financial hardship already incurred. Illness uproots any normalcy in life and finances. In the future, meals will be appreciated also.
As a life long friend, Cristina is an amazing person as those of you who know her can atest to. For those of you who don't, she has a kind and generous heart.
