Christian, like most parents wakes up bright & early and takes Paola, his 10 year old daughter, to school. Gives her the same advice and a kiss on the forehead everyday. Picks her up, has lunch, and they play Nintendo Wii, which Paola is a lot better at by the way.
Lately, that hasn’t been the case. Christian has been diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer in the lower intestine in early June. Public healthcare in Guatemala is in crisis. Loans have been taken out and all resources have been exhausted. We would not ask for your help if it weren’t absolutely necessary and it is our last option.
The treatment is taking place in Guatemala, please find a breakdown of the cost below:
Surgery to remove tumor from intestine: 60,000.00 Quetzales/ US. $8,225.04
Chemotherapy, 6 sessions: 30,000.00 Quetzales/ US.$4,112.52

We are a group of friends who are helping cover his living expenses through our own means, we need help to cover the life saving treatments. We are happy to answer any questions you might have or any advice you might give us, since Guatemala’s healthcare system is in a state of crisis.
