Send Kim to Summer School

Hi my name is Kim and I am a PhD student in Critical Disability Studies, I'm also a disability rights activist and blogger.  I am hoping to attend the International Disability Law Summer School in Galway, Ireland (June 18-22). Unfortunately, the costs are prohibitive and I cannot afford to do this on my own.

I am hoping you will help me access this opportunity as it will greatly benefit not only my education but will also assist me in my activism and writing.

The deadline to qualify for the early bird fees for the program is March 16. I have budgeted for the larger fee because I would need to raise at least $3000 before then to feel that I will be able to make up the rest in time.

I am also applying for a $1000 grant through my university. In the unlikely but happy event that I raise more than the $5500 through this campaign and through grants, any additional funds will be used towards expenses relating to my PhD.

School Fees $ 560-620 (Depending on whether I register before the early bird pricing)

Return Travel from the Airport to Galway $80

Accommodations $1300

Travel Insurance $300

Transportation within Galway $300

Miscellaneous (GoFundMe fees, taxes, exchange rate fees, etc) $750


If I am not fortunate enough to reach my goal, any funds collected will be redirected towards my studies here in Canada.
