An earthquake has struck the Greek island of Crete, killing one person and injuring 20 others.

The earthquake, which measured magnitude-5.8 damaged homes and churches and caused rock slides near the country's fourth-largest city on Monday 27th of September. People fled into the streets in the city of Heraklion, and schools were evacuated. The Pancretan Association of Melbourne is on the frontline to assist the people of Crete who were affected by this disaster.
