Cremation for Judy Weems

Judy Weems was born in Abilene, TX, on January 16, 1952. She persevered through a difficult childhood to become a loving mother, grandmother, friend, wife, healer, and helper of those in need. On January 3, 2018, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family after a short stay in hospice and many years of health-related difficulties. She was greatly loved by many people, and will be enormously missed by them all.
As a result of years of healthcare expenses and the general calamity that comes with health costs snowballing into further financial hardship, Judy, and our father Richard, did not have life insurance or retirement savings with which to handle end-of-life necesities like the cost of cremation, which was our mother's wish.
I will be putting the full cost, for now, on my credit card as this is of course a time-sensitive necessity, but we hope to raise the money quickly so that no one has to go into debt as a result of her passing. $1350 is the full cost of the cremation, approximately $50 for paperwork, and $100 will go toward the urn (I plan on keeping her ashes with me).
If more than we need for this is donated, it will be used for associated expenses with her memorial services (we plan to have one this Sunday at the UU church in Victoria at 5 p.m., and another, tentatively, next weekend in Waco - details will be sent when they're hammered out) and travel expenses.
