Creech Family - Harvey Recovery

A colleague and friend, Jason Creech, and his family have suffered considerable losses following the events of Hurricane Harvey. 

Like many other Houston residents, the Creech family was devastatingly impacted by the damage that Hurricane Harvey so indiscrimanently left behind. After the floodgates of Lake Conroe were opened, their property began taking on water that eventually flooded the first floor of their home. The family was evacuated from their 2nd story and was transported by canoe to a neighbor's home to wait out the storm.  After nearly a week of waiting for the flood waters to recede, the Creech family returned to their home and found the ruinous remains of Harvey's destruction. 

Like 85% of Houston residents, the Creech family did not have flood insurance on their property. They were informed that homeowner's insurance could not be used to fund the mitigation or repairs required for their home. Complicating things further, to this point, the family has only been offered FEMA assistance that includes assistance for temporary housing. 

The task of cleaning up from this disaster has begun and the family has completely gutted the first floor of their home so that they can begin further water remediation and mold mitigation. The process to rebuild will take months. 

Experiencing these events at-arms-length could not possibly bring into perspective the realities that the Creech family is and will be facing in the coming months. I'm asking, and am hopeful that, my friends and colleagues and their friends and colleagues can find a place in their heart to donate anything you can to the Creech family. All money collected through this effort will be used to aid in the reconstruction of their home.
