Creative Kuponya Support Fund for Healing

We are a minority owned business that believes in justice and equality for the humanity of all people.  Our work is centered on providing unique, culturally sensitive therapy without the binds of the larger insurance systems.  We believe this work is crucial to provide trauma healing therapy to all people regardless of the color of skin.

OUR ASK IS TWO FOLD:

First

In response to the death of George Floyd, by the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department, many rebellions began near the third precinct in order for people’s voices to TRULY be heard.  Very unexpectedly,  we lost our office due to the fires that were set on May 29, 2020.  We understand the trauma of feeling unheard for hundreds of years.  The anger and emotions were so high that they could no longer be suppressed.
Our office at The Ivy Art Building is compromised and we now have lost our place of practice.  We will need to find a new office to practice in as soon as possible.  Unfortunately rents have increased dramatically compared to when we rented three years ago for the first time.  We will also need to purchase items to fill the space and make a safe healing home for our work.

Second
Our second part of the ask is to offer FREE therapy to minority groups in need.  We immediately knew that this battle was going to harm and re-traumatize numerous people, but particularly our black and brown neighbors.  So, we did what we do best...we went to work.  We have started and are committed to offering FREE community healing sessions, which began on June 3, 2020 at Adam’s Triangle Park on Minnehaha Ave.  Our first community healing session hosted 100 people in rituals and coping skills for trauma, meditation and a call and response geared specifically towards the healing of people of color.  The showing of love was so positive that we are already committed to hosting these weekly in an effort to bring as much healing as possible to as many people as possible.  We are also committed to offering FREE individual and family therapy to people of color in need.  We have been inundated with requests and are hoping to strengthen our healing team to meet the need of the public!  Also, of course, we need an office to meet people in (appropriately distanced due to COVID).

IN SUMMARY:
We need your help to:
-Find offices that are in our neighborhood, furnish them and make it a  welcoming space for our clients in their journey of healing the traumas that have stemmed from racial oppression.

-Fund the community healing sessions so that we can impact as many people as possible, while building relationship and breaking down barriers with our neighbors.

-Help us fund FREE therapy for minority populations that can not afford it by paying for therapy sessions.

-Assist us in helping build our team of healers to meet he ever growing and increasing need.

THANK YOU to the numerous people that have already offered up financial and emotional support.  Creative Kuponya would not be here without you!
