I have been studying apologetics, mostly the Creation/evolution debate, extensively over the last few years and am trying to start up a ministry to help churches teach their members, especially students, that they can believe what the Bible says. History and science do NOT contradict the Bible as many are taught. They are being lied to. To help stabilize people's faith I am starting to do some speaking but would like to be able to spend more time contacting churches and promoting my ministry.
When I started to consider creating an actual ministry the business that I run for a living took an immediate nosedive and I have been struggling financially since then. I need funds to start a bank account to take care of web costs, printing, gas, travel, props and fossils to show kids, etc. I am also in need of a new furnace at my house and, while I have saved up most of the money for that, I am still about $1000 or so short. (Yes, I understand the furnace thing seems unrelated, but having it taken care of would also free up time and energy to promote the ministry.) Eventually I would like to start raising enough funds each month to cover some of my living expenses as well. This would allow me to take time from my other work to focus on ministry.
All the funds would go to me personally. To set up a 501c3 would cost even more money and I am not sure that is the best use of resources in the short run. I need the funds as soon as possible. If God really wants me in this ministry he can certainly help provide resources through this and other avenues of fundraising. If somehow this fundraising goes tremendously well I might be able to start doing half or even full time ministry.
If you can't contribute cash I really need encouragement and prayer for my new ministry as well.
