<div>My name is Suri, founder of Hijas del Mar in El Salvador. I empower girls through surfing and skateboarding, using sport as a tool to build confidence, resilience, and life skills. My mission is to create safe spaces where girls grow strong, independent, and believe in their potential.

<div>Hijas del Mar was born in Playa El Zonte with a clear mission: to support girls and young teens from our community as they build confidence, discover their self-worth, and develop skills that will help them navigate life with strength and dignity.

<div>Surfing is our entry point—but our impact goes far beyond the ocean. Through surf lessons, the girls learn discipline, perseverance, respect, and teamwork. Every wave becomes a lesson; every fall, an opportunity to rise stronger.

<div>For 2026, we are raising $3,000 to continue and expand our activities and to ensure we can meet both educational and basic needs of the girls we support.
</div>

<div>These funds will help us cover:

<div>•	New surfboards
</div>
<div>•	Leashes, wax, fins, and essential surf equipment
</div>
<div>•	Safe and guided surf classes
</div>
<div>•	Workshops and learning activities led by different professionals (life skills, leadership, creativity, self-care)
</div>
<div>•	Basic materials required to run these workshops
</div>
<div>•	Psychological and emotional support, as many of the girls face challenging personal realities and need professional guidance
</div>
<div>•	Basic necessities, when needed, to support the girls’ well-being and stability
</div>

<div>Most of these girls would not have access to these opportunities without external support. Hijas del Mar strives to be a safe space where they feel seen, heard, and supported—while gaining the emotional tools, confidence, and resilience needed to gradually build a better future.
