Hello, everyone. I’m Tait, an artist from Humboldt County, California. If you’re not familiar, it’s a rural area in the northern part of the state, just a couple of hours away from Oregon.
I've been interested in art and comics since I was young. When I got a little older, nature became a significant influence as I explored the nearby redwood forests. This area has a magical feel that suits fairy tale and fantasy stories quite well, so I suppose it's no surprise that's what I was drawn to when reading or watching movies.
Eventually, I was compelled to try and tell my own story, so now I am creating a fantasy adventure comic called Pacifica. Fairy tales, 80s cartoons, DnD, and video games also provide a good amount of influence on the world I’m shaping.
I've made a lot of progress in turning this comic into my living, including running a successful Kickstarter to self-publishing the first issue. However, I'm still a few months away from finishing the second book, and the income isn't enough to get by yet.
That brings us here.
I don't want to do a second Kickstarter until the book is complete. Trying to make ends meet has been causing a significant amount of stress and anxiety, impacting every aspect of my life, including working on the book or anything else.
The amount I'm asking for would get me by until I can finish my second book and hopefully start collecting a more steady income from promoting the first. I will use the money to pay monthly expenses and build my art business to become self-sufficient. I hope to have at least $300 by the end of February.
Being able to continue working on my comic would be a dream come true. I've spent 20 years working to reach this point and would be amazingly grateful for any help. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you follow any of my work, I hope you enjoy it.
