<div>Hello, my name is Julia, but I often go by Fern. I’m reaching out through this GoFundMe to seek your support as I embark on a challenging legal journey to secure full custody of my precious daughter.

<div>Several months ago, I took the difficult step of initiating a divorce from my ex-partner, hoping to create a safer and more stable environment for my daughter. Unfortunately, he has repeatedly stalled the process, refusing to complete the necessary paperwork. His mother moved in to help him financially, but after witnessing alarming behaviors related to his struggles with substance abuse, she decided to leave. This has left me increasingly anxious about my daughter’s safety.

<div>My concerns are not unfounded. There have been heart-wrenching moments where he has passed out drunk, leaving her unsupervised. One particularly distressing incident involved her getting a gooey substance in her hair. Rather than trying to help her, he chopped pieces of her hair off, leaving a visible reminder of his reckless behavior. His violent demeanor and passive-aggressive threats toward those in his home only add to my fears about her well-being.

<div>I genuinely believe that a healthy relationship between my daughter and her father is important, but for that to happen, I need to ensure her safety first. That’s why I am pursuing legal action to guarantee that he is sober during any visits, insisting on supervised interactions.

<div>I recently consulted with an attorney who confirmed that they could help me request these vital protections in court. However, the cost of starting this process is overwhelming, and I currently lack the financial resources to cover it. I’ve begun selling belongings and exploring other options to raise funds, but I’m reaching out for support from anyone who understands the financial burden of legal fees. The goal is to raise at least $5000 to cover attorney fees and court costs.

<div>Your kindness and support can make a life-changing difference for my daughter and me. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Together, we can create a safer future for her.
