<div>Fed up with the oppressive ways older women are portrayed in society? Want to challenge how the beauty industry targets and impacts older women? Then the production of the short film, 'Beauty Tricks’, is for you!

<div>I’m Leah of 'Older Women Rock!’, an art/activist campaign that raises awareness and explores issues facing women in our late-50s to mid-70s. <div>’Beauty Tricks’ is our next project, an upbeat, edgy and joyful film about the ways the beauty industry targets us as older women to 'age agelessly’. The beauty products market in the UK is projected to make £13billion pounds in 2024 and products aimed at older women are increasing fast. We are made to feel insecure about the way we look and then sold products to ‘make us feel better’. As I say in my performance poem, ‘Creamed’ -

<div>The film is a collaboration with MissFit Sisters, a fantastic older women’s punk band. With the skill and support of filmmaker Clare Unsworth we will create a 4 minute film, featuring a couple of my ‘Older Women Rock!’ poems, one of which has been turned into a punk song. 
</div>

<div>£2,000 will cover the film shoot, editing and production; hire of Speedway; and submission fees for film festivals.
</div>

<div>Clare and I have a strong track record of making award-winning short poetry films, screened in international poetry, feminist and social justice film festivals and used in c events on issues of gendered ageing. I am confident that ‘Beauty Tricks’ will gain a wide audience through film festivals, social media and presentations.

<div>I am making this film to honour my generation of women whose thinking and actions have made such decisive change. I hope we never give up our vision of the world we want and our intention to have it.
