It's hard to find the words to describe the devastation this week as we were mandated to shut down our operations on Sunday March 15th- 12 years to the day of the tragic crane accident in Midtown East that took 6 lives and shuttered our original beloved restaurant Crave Ceviche Bar. But this feels different. The future is daunting and unknown. The stakes are higher with three restaurants and 150 employees who are now without a job. We can guarantee you one thing. We will reopen like we did after the crane accident and we will do it together! Our teams were the lifeblood of our restaurants, the heart and soul of the dining experience. We always tried to treat our staff like family, always subscribed to the idea of happy staff=happy guests. So we're asking you, our happy guests, to please help and donate to our Employee Relief Fund on this page.
100% of all money donated will go directly to our team members at Crave Fishbar and TacoVision. We are looking for any and all ways to continue to support them as a lot of them worked two jobs, support their families, and worked for us for many years. Some were forward facing with our guests and you know them by name. Others, maybe you didn't know them by name. But they were the backbone of our restaurant and you knew them through their cooking. They made the Cavatelli just how you liked it and made your Spicy Shrimp Taco to perfection.
To make this a bit fun and throw in some bragging rights, all contributions of $250 or more will get a cocktail named after them on our menu for our re-opening party (and for the first full week) when the time comes. And for those that might not know us as well...we like to party!
If you are not able to donate at this time but want to help in another way, we are open to all suggestions, advice, or insight that you may have so please reach out to [email redacted]. We would love to hear from you even if it's just to say hello. We miss every single one of you! And if you find a few extra minutes we ask that you call your Representative or Senators. During this very uncertain time we need you more than ever as our community is what made our staff so happy to show up to work and serve you with a smile...and a few dozen oysters (or tacos) in hand!
