Cranksgiving NYC 2019
That time of year: Cranksgiving! Last year our team alone raised OVER $1300 toward food donations for the hungry and homeless in NYC! This year we're shooting for $1,500!
Please DONATE, even if it's only a few bucks; $2.00 still buys a can of soup or a box of pasta to feed someone less fortunate. Twenty people donating $2.00 buys a turkey. With a few hundred other racers this adds up to make a huge difference.
On a personal note... this year, due to miscommunications, no one was organizing the Manhattan Cranksgiving. A week ago it looked like the event wasn't happening. So with 8 days until race day...
I volunteered to run it.
I will not be racing in the Manhattan event in order to make sure that it happens and will be racing - AND LIVE STREAMING - the Brooklyn Cranksgiving event on Dec. 7th instead.
That being the case, a SMALL portion of donations will go to help offset the cost of minor logistical items needed for Manhattan Cranksgiving to happen. Every penny of the remaining portion will be split between food for the Manhattan and Brooklyn races.
In the pursuit of transparency, the final post for this campaign will include receipts showing you EXACTLY how every penny we raise is spent. I want everyone to be able to donate with the confidence that their money is going to help the hungry and homeless.
