Cranbury Lions for Skeet's Pantry

In lieu of our annual RUBBER DUCK RACE, the Cranbury Lions have organized an online fundraising effort for Skeet's Pantry. In these troubling times, when thousands in the area have lost their jobs, insurance and homes, Skeet’s Pantry is providing a critical service to the community. We hope you will lend your support! And we will match donations, dollar for dollar, for the first $2,500.00 of contributions!
ABOUT SKEET'S PANTRY
Skeet's Pantry provides food to anyone in need from Cranbury and the surrounding communities. As a mission of First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury, it is coordinated and staffed entirely by volunteers, typically serving over 80 families each month!
Waynatta "Skeet" Trowbridge, possibly nicknamed for being no bigger than a mosquito, founded Skeet's Pantry in the 1980's. In World War II, she had felt the effects of hunger during her time on a troop train. After settling in Cranbury, she realized the prevalence of food insecurity in the local community. So she expanded a church program that is still growing: Skeet and volunteers deliver food to those in need, always respecting the patrons’ privacy.
This passion and love for helping those in need is kept alive by all the volunteers who continue to make Skeet's Pantry an ongoing mission. Skeet’s Pantry depends on donations and works together with Boy and Girl Scouts along with other youth groups to collect and distribute food.

ABOUT THE CRANBURY LIONS
The Cranbury Lions are made up of members who volunteer their efforts to perform charitable community services. We roll up our sleeves and take action in order to make our community better. The Lions raise money through various service projects and provide donations from the proceeds to many local community services.
One of our major events is the annual Cranbury Lions RUBBER DUCK RACE. In the raffle, 1500 tickets are sold that correspond to a rubber duck in a race which takes place at the dam of Brainard Lake. This year we cannot run the race due to the COVID-19 restrictions, so we have decided instead to do an online fundraiser for Skeet’s Panty.
