Bonnie Cramond is a giving, loving, funny friend and UGA professor who is in the middle of the toughest challenge most of us can imagine. She lost her husband in October and her son last Thursday (Nov.30) due to unrelated medical conditions. And now she is faced with huge medical bills. Bonnie would be the first to tell you that there are many people in need during this season of giving. Bonnie, her son Adam, and her (now late) husband Neil have been hit with several years of events, that might have made lesser people give up. But they have stayed strong as a family, fighting for both Adam's life (leukemia) and Neil's (lung cancer). Bonnie is an amazing educator, who has inspired teachers and students all over the world, with her research and insights into creativity. But she has also been amazing in supporting her son and her husband, as well as her mother Lois, who is facing her own challenges of aging as she lives with Bonnie and Neil.
Unfortunately, Neil has lost his battle with lung cancer. He passed away on October 16, 2017. A memeorial event was held at their home on Saturday, October 28, and was attended by family and friends from far and wide. So many people love him and Bonnie. He will be greatly missed.
Adam has had to return to Atlanta for his treatment, though he is able to continue the new medications he was able to access through the MD Anderson Center in Houston TX. But he has been dealing with repeated hospitalizations for infections and high temperatures, due to his immune system being impaired by his treatment. And Bonnie is still dealing with the double medical bills, which have mounted up, from two very ill family members.
Please help this wonderful family, which has been dealt such a heavy load of worry, suffering , and expense.
