Craig's Fight Against Dementia

Donation protected

Craig Wright is a strong man that has helped many and would never ask for help for himself, so I will do it for him.

Craig is my brother-in-law and lives in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  Craig and my sister, Kristin had a beautiful life. Craig is a great husband, father and just a great person. He would work third shift and then return home to cut lawns for free for neighbors that had hardships like cancer or strokes. He did these acts without telling others. He saved a dog that he passed each day that had been chained to a tree and used for pit bull training.  After that, Craig and his dog, Bubba were inseparable.

The signs that something was terribly wrong started for Craig at the young age of 51. By 53, Craig was diagnosed with Dementia brought on by early-onset Alzheimers. Now, Craig is at age 62 and is in
severe cognitive decline where even the basic act of swallowing or being able to walk on his own is becoming a daily battle. Kristin is fighting by his side, making sure Craig is getting the best medical care. She is also working full time to meet the financial responsibilities and family needs.   Imagine living your life with your spouse or significant other and tomorrow the memories you made all disappear.

The Current Situation
Craig's doctors have made it clear there is no cure for dementia. The medications prescribed will only slow down Dementia's progress. Today, Craig's condition has progressed to a point where he cannot be left alone and at times he will have agitated episodes that cause him to get upset and be restrained. The current assisted care facility has forced him out with little notice. He is currently in a hospital, but will need a new assisted care facility that can provide him the medical treatment and the safety he needs.

Where Your Money Will Go
The life destroying effects of Dementia caused Craig to lose his job and created financial burdens that have taken the family home and depleted all savings accounts. Craig has fallen into that middle gray area where he made just enough to not qualify for Medicaid but also not enough to cover his much needed treatment and assisted care with his pension alone. The medications and assisted care facility cost thousands per month and your donations will contribute to Craig's fight. Any and all donations are so greatly appreciated.
