Craig's Recovery & Return Home

Donation protected
Craig left for work on Monday morning, April 6, just like every other workday. He delivers bread for Rotella/Roma Bakery in Kansas City, MO. He loaded his truck and left for his first stop of the day at Restaurant Depot. Around 4:30 am he took a load of bread to the door and was going into the building. He didn't know there were 2 guys following him in to rob the store. When they got inside, he was shot. Thank goodness one of the 2 employees that were there that early ran into her office and pressed the alarm button. The police and fire department were there in about 4-5 minutes. Had it not been for her quick thinking, Craig would not be with us. He had 5-1/2 hours of surgery to stop bleeding and has been recuperating there for 11 days. This gunshot changed our lives forever. Right now Craig is paralyzed from the waist down. He has been transferred to a rehab facility in NE to get him help in how to move forward. We are hopeful that maybe he will get some function back, but it will be a long while before we know. We are staying positive and have had awesome support and prayers, but this is a huge change for our family.
