Craig Crosby’s Lifelong Journey with Hodgkins Lymphoma.
When Craig was 15, his mother noticed a knot on his neck. After scheduling and having the knot removed, the Crosby's had to wait an agonizing 2 weeks for the results which came from St. Jude’s Children Hospital. After scheduling an appointment with radiation oncologist Dr. Paul Adams, Dr Adams scheduled Craig for42 radiation treatments.
In 1993 Craig was in a MRI machine to help setup the programming while training to be a X-ray tech. The MRI tech kept asking Craig to stay in the MRI a little longer. Come to find out, the tech had found numerous lymph nodes and abnormal bone marrow coloration in his body. After scheduling numerous tests, the Crosby's decided on University of South Alabama in Mobile,AL for treatment. Craig had 10 rounds of Chemotherapy that took almost 2 years, causing numerous side effects which included Shingles, Blood Clots, Hepatitis, abnormal LFT’s, Blood infections and most recently Severe Anemia.
The therapy was very taxing on Craig, but his attitude has always been very positive throughout this journey from the very beginning. Craig gives all the glory to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Thorough out his Journey with Cancer, Craig worked as a X-ray tech until 1994 when he couldn't work due to his immune system being so low. Through the 29 years, Craig has had many bills. The latest bills/treatments are extremely expensive that include Blood and Iron transfusions.
Craig is one of the strongest people I've ever known,. He always wants to help others and keeps smiling even when times get tough.
