Thanks to a series of rather livable but unfortunate events I’ve found myself with a Brand new MacBook Pro being stolen, a dislocated finger, a slew of health and health insurance fiascos costing me an arm and a leg, and finally an empathetic yet hurtful nudge out of my apartment. With the hole in my pocket growing bigger by the minute, little time on my own to sort things out (thankfully I’m still employed doing what I love and sharing it with the world), and no real space to call home, I’m reaching out to my friends, family and artists alike for a little help in keeping my feet stepping onward and upward.
Working as a Dance artist in NYC for the past 7plus Years has taught me a lot and introduced me to some beautiful people and art. I look forward to continue the expansion of the circles and networks I’ve made. I wish to eventually, hopefully sooner rather than later, take what I’ve seen and learned and apply it to some sort of graduate school education in and around dance, as it involves communities at large and the expression and security it provides smaller voices in larger spectrums.
My goal is to get at least 2,000 of my friends and family and/or their friends or family to donate $1 each. My aim is to publicly acknowledge my appreciation for collaborative creativity. With this campaign I wish to plant a seed of a larger idea I have for everyone to be able to learn to converse and combat ideas through art. Through the sharing of ideas we can learn to be better individuals whom operate easily and safely in circles with other individuals. Later down the road I hope to build a space both figuratively and physically that houses artist and promotes them working together... for now I am just looking to replace the new laptop my mother so graciously and selflessly bought for me as a Birthday present and to acquire a camera that I may begin to use for photography and videography ventures. My goal is to open up my creative capabilities to others and begin this venture into greater creation as soon as I get the devices, no time wasted. I use this here campaign as a digital witness to what I am looking to do.
