Hi my name is Stevie.

I have never created a fundraiser before until now. Robby Walker is someone very special to me that has unfortunately been affected mentally, physically, medically and financially by contracting bilateral COVID pneumonia.

Robby and his wife Susan have been like second parents to me throughout my school-age and adult life. They have both been inspirational mentors, motivators and emotional support for me throughout my 20+ years of knowing them. They were there for me when I graduated high school and earlier this year, Susan hosted my most special day in their beautiful backyard when I married my best friend BJ. Robby and Susan are two of the most kindest and generous people to everyone they know.

When Robby was first admitted into the hospital on July 18, 2021; Susan never thought another one of her biggest nightmares was about to begin a second time. You see they experienced the most ultimate loss when their 25-year-old daughter passed away of a brain aneurysm 2 1/2 years ago. Their daughter Kalynn donated seven organs and saved five beautiful lives. When Robby was intubated On July 25, 2021,

Susan had no idea that by August 4, 2021 she would be told that Robby would not survive, that he had irreversible lung damage and would not be a candidate for lung transplantation. As you can imagine, her world was crushed yet again. Susan couldn’t understand why the doctors were saying this since none of his other organs were failing. So she fought.

If anyone in our community knows Susan Walker, they know that she has bold tenacity and compassion like no other. With the support of all their prayer warriors lifting them in spirit, and the mighty power of GOD suiting Susan up for his mission, she sought out to find help for her husband.

After exhausting all 160+ hospitals throughout the south states to find an ECMO treatment facility available for her husband to survive, the power of prayer and God opened so many doors by so many people.

On August 8, 2021, Susan made her way onto a CNN interview to plead for help. That same afternoon, Dr. Gallagher, a Cardiothoracic Surgeon, at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT read the CNN publication on a social media news feed. He contacted his Chief Perfusionist, Angela, and within hours they were in contact with Susan agreeing to take Robby’s case.

From there the most miraculous shifting of people began. From local doctors in Florida, that were not affiliated with the hospital Robby was in, but willing to help facilitate the rescue, to friends and family desperately offering support to do whatever they could to help get Robby transferred for help, to arranging the medical flight and staff to transport Robby from Florida to Connecticut, to getting Robby cannulated for ECMO so he would survive the flight… It was all a perfectly divine alignment for Robby’s rescue.

Robby was flown to Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT on August 11, 2021 where he would begin his life-saving treatment, ECMO. After three weeks in CICU Robby would begin to wake up. From there his healing was slow but steady and he continued to make progress to the point where he was released September 14, 2021, from Saint Francis Hospital and transferred to Gaylord Hospital and Rehabilitation Facility in Wallingford, CT where he is now receiving extensive physical and occupational therapy and awaits his release date this October 2021.

I am so proud to call this family my family and I would love nothing more than to help them, as I know they have accumulated bills over a million dollars… please help me; help them.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers as this family, even when they get home, has a long journey in front of them.

GOD bless!!
