HI! I am getting a new Wheelchair! It is an electric one. With it I drive myself and don’t need to wait for anyone to push me. I like this chair. When I am tired or done driving I can Tilt myself back. The therapist and Gary(the wheelchair guy) say it’s good for my back when I tilt. But I like it so I can sleep tilt back.
But one thing, though about this Wheelchair, it does not let me go ↑UP OR ↓DOWN! It stinks, because I cannot reach the heights that everyone else can do. When coming to a certain tables I am too Low. When I come to the kitchen counter? I am too low. When I am at a concert? I am too low to look above a person’s head. I love people! But I don’t like seeing their butts…..eh…backside all the time.
I go to LYF, Inc. they are on FaceBook, they do things, but my new wheelchair won’t let participate in the kitchen/cooking activities.
Can you help me? Mr. Gary states the part to make my wheelchair go up and down costs about a total of $4000.00. The State of Florida Medicaid Program will not pay for that part for my wheelchair. Ever since the budget cuts, the help I would get has decreased. They make it hard. They said if I get anything, like to pay for the lift for the van? My parents have to choose stay in a "Day Program" or the "Lift"
