My sister Julie is a special person. She loves to laugh and have fun. Pretty sure that was genetically transmitted from the Fitzpatrick side of the family!
Julie was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at around 6 months of age. As part of that condition, she has spastic hemiplegia of her right side making her walking imbalanced. Julie lived with mom for the first 38 years of her life. Then in 1998, mom died. It has not been easy but with friends around her and family there to help, she kept on.
Though resilent, the last year has been very difficult for Julie. While working she injured her back. The pain has been relentless. Multiple therapies, even expert evaluation at the Shirly Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago has not been able to provide a key to resolving the pain. The thing that gives Julie the most happiness is being in her own home.
Julie's ability to stay in her own home is now threatened. Her inability to work and supplement her fixed income, the cost of her health care and a broken relationship has left Julie with no reserves and inadequate income for day to day living.
Due to my inability to financially rescue Julie, I decided to reach out to as many people as possible in hopes to raise enough money to pay the medical bills and supplement Julie's fixed income through the hard months of winter. Julie hopes to feels better and return to a part-time job to supplement her income as soon as she is able.
Since we have exhausted all known resources, your quick response to our situation is very appreciated.
