Beth's story is below as told by her husband John. He has been by her side every day for the last few months. Beth has been in the hospital on and off since November. The medical bills are piling up, and they could really could use support. Beth is a funny, vibrant woman, and we want to see her back to her former self soon! Please help us to help her.

A plea for your help is here . . .
For the last three months beginning November 11, 2017, Beth had been in and out of the hospital with breathing difficulties, heart rate level concerns, and complications related to diabetes. January 4, 2018, was her third and most critical admission and added to the above health problems, she had developed pneumonia and sepsis, a life threatening infection. She has been on life support in the intensive care unit of the hospital for all of January 2018.
She was very ill and in bad shape. Her doctors have given her a 50/50 chance on pulling through.
After thirty days in the intensive care unit, Beth was well enough to be moved to another floor of the hospital that involved lesser acute care . Her pneumonia and the life-threatening sepsis infection were virtually gone and no longer required antibiotics. But she still needed a ventilator to survive.
The main goal now is to wean her from the ventilator. Daily breathing tests are done and these measure her ability to breathe on her own using different degrees of support from the ventilator.
Beth was discharged from the hospital on February 16, 2018, and was transferred to a sub-acute facility for further recovery and therapy. The doctors and
therapists have said that it would take at least four months for this recovery period.
Her medical insurance only covers so much and for a limited period of time. After that, she’s on her own, unless it's something state sponsored, which we have found out recently that we don’t qualify. The daily rate for the sub-acute facility is $1,016 for non-insured . . . quitting treatment due to costs should not be an option,
because if she prematurely comes off the ventilator, she will not make it.
Please help her continue with the life-saving treatment she needs.
