See me.... One last time.

That's what Dee-Dee needed as her best friend, husband, father of her children and love-of-her-life lay heavily sedated during one horrifying month in July. "Please Ted, just open your eyes and know that I am here. Know that I love you." It's a wish that didn't come true.

Ted's sudden fall into an illness that would take his life left all in shock. On June 30, he collapsed at work and was rushed to St. Vincent's Heart Center in Indianapolis just 6 months after his previous heart surgery. An infection had taken hold around his heart valve. He waited a week for the surgery to correct the issue. And though all seemed well following surgery, almost immediately, other issues began to assault his body and just one day later, he had to be sedated as the doctors worked to heal him. From there it was a roller coaster of good and bad days, the only steady thing being Dee-Dee and his kids by his side. And just as things started to look positive...signs that his heart was strong, doctors talking of moving him to rehab, taking him off the respirator and dialysis that had helped him gain strength, suddenly it was all too much. In a 72-hour period Ted went from recovering, to failing and on July 31st, to death.

He never did open his eyes to see his loving wife, his three beautiful children or know how many came to his bedside, how many prayers were uttered on his behalf and now he's gone. And after that long month of July, the family that lived on income from Ted's work as a teamster in a truck yard and Dee-Dee's two jobs now have far, far less.

Many have rallied to give financially but more is needed as bills, funeral costs and yet unknowable hospital charges pile up. Yes, there is health and life insurance, but not enough to make up the difference going forward. Please join us with your prayers, donations and advice...anything to aide this family in their hour of need. Help us see them through.

Disclaimer: DeeDee and Ted are beloved by so many that we find donations arriving from friends & family near and far and friends from work including customers and vendors. We want to be in compliance with all workplace ethics and business practice guidelines, so we ask that donations be made personally as individuals, not through a company name.
