In Loving Memory of Sarah Jones

Obituary of Sarah Lindsey Jones

Sarah was an unforgettable person that touched countless souls. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside.

I met Sarah at a fraternity function in Myrtle Beach. I had just transferred to USC and had not made any friends. I was talking to a guy on the balcony and I said to him, "Can you not?" Immediately, Sarah (who I had never spoken to before) came up to him and said "Dude, take a hint she doesn't want to hook up with you." I informed her that he was actually my boyfriend and we laughed about it for hours. She decided that night that she wanted me to be her "little Sister" in her sorority, Delta Zeta. I was so excited, I finally started to feel that I had made the right decision in transferring.

Anyone that knew Sarah knows that she does NOT give up easily. Recruitment had already concluded and the only way to get me into the sorority was to get me a Snap Bid. She probably sent 30 emails a day and called the head of recruitment at least 5 times a day for weeks until they finally agreed to let me in. I was over the moon to be her little. If I had not met Sarah, I would never have made the friends that I did. I never would have had the amazing experiences I had at USC if it were not for her.

Sarah and I laughed and cried together. We fought and made up. We were there for each other during the hard times as well as the good. We we truly SISTERS. She will always be my big sister and I will miss her every single day. I now have the most beautiful guardian angel looking over me.

I was one of many that were touched by Sarah. She was so loved by so many people. She devoted her life to bringing joy to others. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Psychology from USC. After graduation, she went to work with the Early Autism Project in Columbia, working with autistic children as a certified behavioral therapist.

Sarah worked hard her entire life to ensure she would not be a financial burden on her family. Her sudden passing has been a shock to us all, especially her family. Sarah leaves behind beautiful memories to her parents; sister, Lauren Hobbs (John); ADORABLE nieces, Mary Wesley and Penelope Hobbs; brother, Wesley Jones, grandparents, Jim and Kaye Simmonds and Ray and Tana Pignitor. In addition, she was loved by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

Sarah would not have wanted to burden her family with funeral expenses. She has given so much to us all, all I ask is that we give a little back to help provide a beautiful service for her family. These are hard times for us all. If it were not for Covid, her family probably would have had to rent out Williams Brice to hold all of the people that would show up to her service.

Please considering contributing to help pay for Sarah's funeral expenses. Any contribution, large or small, is greatly appreciated.

Deepest condolences to her family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
