<div>I returned to Toronto for the second time, this time for a series of tests related to a medical study I'm part of. The results brought some difficult news: in just two weeks, my tumor has grown by 1.2MM. At this rate, if the current study doesn't succeed, the only remaining option would be the full removal of my eye.
</div>

<div>Because of how unique my case is, the research team has decided to launch a sub-study tailored specifically to situations like mine. I’ll be the first patient in this study with a tumor over 10MM. It’s a big step, and while the path ahead is still unclear, I’m grateful to have this opportunity.
</div>

</div>
<div>My next appointment in Toronto is scheduled for July 8th. If everything goes as planned, I’ll begin the new medication that day. I’ll be monitored closely in the hospital for 24–48 hours to make sure my body accepts the drug. If all goes well, I’ll be able to go home shortly after. From that point on, I’ll need to travel to Toronto once a month for monitoring and treatment.

<div>The goal is to shrink the tumor enough so that radiation can effectively kill the cancer — and, hopefully, preserve my eye.

<div>Here’s where things are at now.

<div>I’ve just learned that I’ll likely be part of a medical trial for a new drug that could actually shrink the tumor in my eye. If it works, it might save the eye, and even preserve some of my vision. That’s more hope than I ever expected to have just a few weeks ago, and I’m incredibly grateful for this chance.
</div>
<div>But this is only part of the story.
</div>

<div>Regardless of the trial outcome, I still need surgery to implant a radiation chip directly into my eye. It’s a frightening, invasive procedure, and the drug trial only improves my chances of avoiding total vision loss. This is not a cure, it’s a fight to hold on to something most people take for granted: the ability to see.

<div>What makes this even harder is that I’ll need to travel frequently to Toronto for the trial, scans, treatments, follow-ups, while also preparing for and recovering from eye surgery. It means time away from home, from work, and from everything familiar.

<div>Meanwhile, my Employment Insurance runs out in two weeks. The costs are adding up fast, transportation, accommodations, food, medications, and it’s more than I can manage on my own.
</div>

<div>This is not easy to ask, but I really need help. Every donation, no matter how small, will help me get through this next stage, one step closer to preserving my sight and getting through the fight of my life.
