<div>My name is Channing Von Taylor, also known on stage and professionally in music as Von-T. I'm a musical artist and an 18-year veteran Army Officer, which I deployed to Iraq and fought for our nation. I was stationed at Fort Gordon Augusta, Georgia. I am African American, and I was attempting to get out clean to pursue my dream full time, but the Army has pressed charges against me solely because I made hip-hop music while being a service member, for which I also have been reprimanded. I make all kinds of music (not just Hip-Hop). However, my Hip-Hop music was singled out and targeted individually. I honorably medically retired, but the situation forced me into an early retirement, where I was not celebrated or given any ceremony for the 18 years I put into this nation called America. During it all, I still appealed the post commander’s decision, which was denied. Now I am doing all I can to seek justice. Since this is uncharted territory, most civilian lawyers do not have all the answers on how they can help. As a Georgian, an African American citizen, and a Soldier, I seek justice. No policy in America or the Military is in place that makes this legal or okay. The situation is racist, discriminatory, and prejudiced action against my culture and me as an African American.

There is a problem obviously and as it pertains to the discrimination against rap and Hip-Hop music within the military. It is not just about my music at this point it is about first Amendment rights, racism, and discrimination.

<div>I was being denied medical care in which now I have suffered permanent damage because of the Army units leadership neglect and active participation in denying me very serious surgeries that I can no longer fix with little chance of permanent damage now.
