Our cat Odin

Hi, this is Odin. He is our Lilac Point Siamese. He is a stray that we acquired him around December of last year, wasn't neutered no microchip no collar. He would hang around our house and sleep under our carport, we invited him in with treats and he decided to stay and he's been the most calm and easy going cat I've ever seen. Unfortunately for us he collapsed on Feb.10 and was rushed to the emergency clinic and was diagnosed with diabetes after a diabetic ketoacidosis episode, we was hospitalized for 6 days and after many complications from his age, we found out he was at least 9 years old when we acquired him, and he made a decent recovery enough to send him home with us, we just had to start administering his medications and inuslin to him daily and it seemed he was on a steady incline to good health. He has a feeding tube installed through his neck that we had to intiially feed him through as he wasnt eating food on his own, but after giving him an appetite stimulant, that was quikclh no longer needed so they had it removed and the vets believed he was making a very decent recovery once he has the tube removed. 3 days later
of having him home, his blood glucose was not going down and he was starting to become severely dehydrated even after drinking an absolute insane amount of water daily. All liquids he was in taking basically was just going in one side and out the other he wasn't retaining any of the liquid he drank, and as of the 24th we brought him to emergency vet again to maybe see if his diabetes was causing issues, unfortunately it was not and we was also diagnosed with Advanced Kidney Disease and they believe his decline would be very quick as his red blood cell count was severely low and his blood sugar was sky rocketed to 1000mg/dL with no signs of lowering even after he began his insulin treatment, he was basically not retaining any water and would circulate blood that was like mud. So after a month of treatment and 8768$ we have lost our friend, as of 11:29pm on February 24th, Odin was put to sleep as even with more treatment he was too far past a recovering point. I appreciate all kind words privately I received. Our insurance won't cover any of the diabetic treatment as they diagnosed it as a preexisting condition so, if anyone would be so kind as to help me with that I would greatly appreciate it.
