Cox Automotive Conquers Kilimanjaro

As part of the pioneering Women with Drive, on the 24th February 2018 10 ambitious women from Cox Automotive will embark on a tough, physical and mental challenge to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. This to raise money for the Wooden Spoon, a Rugby based charity that does amazing work supporting disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK and Ireland.
Women with Drive exists to celebrate the work of women in the automotive industry. It is an inclusive movement built to support female achievements, aspirations and successes, with a ‘think big’ attitude and a space for every voice. We strive to promote a diverse, positive workforce that has the power to inspire every member, and gives every woman the opportunity to reach her full potential (http://womenwithdrive.co.uk )
The Kilimanjaro trek takes 8 days and will see the climbers sleeping in tents in temperatures as low as -20 and walking for up to 15 hours a day.
We want to raise as much money as we can, to support and spread the message of Wooden Spoon so that they can continue changing the lives of the young people they work with every day.

Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby. From sensory rooms, specialist playgrounds and sports activity areas to respite, medical and community care, we fund around 70 projects each year that support disadvantaged and disabled children. Since our founding in 1983, we’ve distributed in excess of £24 million, helping over 1 million young people.
