It’s fair to say we have collectively had our lives turned upside down in recent weeks, we are all worried about family and friends, there are those who have had their incomes and livelihoods swiped away in the wake of this pandemic. There are also a number of other groups of people who are not always making mainstream press headlines amidst this crisis including:
Homeless and vulnerable people with pets
Rescue centres and charities who are providing help and support to these people
We are hosting a virtual charity event, PAAWstival, in aid of StreetVet who continue their work to support some the most vulnerable in our society and their pets during these unprecedented times.
For many of these people their pet is the one living thing that means more to them than anything else; their best friend, their reason to keep going every day, their only companion. We hope you will consider helping us help those who are providing care and support to these people.
The purpose of this page is to raise funds for StreetVet, (a registered charity made up of volunteer vets who look after the pets of the homeless) who continue to help and support some of the most vulnerable people in our society. We appreciate that many of you have to consider your own families and future right now, but for those who can afford to make a small contribution it will be much appreciated.
I’m sure those who love, and know the love of a pet can only begin to comprehend the fear, heartache and confusion that must be going through some of these people’s minds at this time. I know it keeps me awake at night! Please consider donating the price of a cup of coffee or a tin of dog food, any donation no matter how small WILL make a difference.
We’ve long been supporters of StreetVet, a registered charity made up of volunteer vets who look after the dogs of the homeless. We will be co-ordinating with them to ensure funds are distributed to those working to help the most vulnerable pet parents in society.
We will provide regular updates with regards to distribution and use of donations.
