Covid-19 Response: Supporting Our Communities

The Community Impact Initiative  - We are a not-for-profit social enterprise that provides skills-development opportunities in some of the most deprived communities across South Wales. We support individuals with varying needs, all of whom face issues and barriers that result in low confidence, social exclusion or unemployment. This includes: Individuals from under-represented groups, unpaid carers, homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, violence and domestic abuse, NEETs and older people.

The support that we provide improves well-being, teaches new skills, helps achieve qualifications, and creates pathways into employment. We run unique renovation projects, where individuals have the opportunity to learn essential skills whilst rejuvenating empty, run down properties.  All profits from the sale of our properties are reinvested into our next property purchase. Since 2018 we have supported over 200 individuals whilst renovating properties in four of our most deprived areas.

Funding Cuts and Unemployment - Sadly, the Covid-19 crisis has resulted in large cuts to our funding as well as contributing to a rise in unemployment nationally. Perhaps more than ever, support like ours is vital and will contribute heavily towards re-boosting the economy and improving the lives of many unemployed and disadvantaged individuals. To enable us to continue the important work that we do in supporting our communities, we need to ensure that our projects are well-funded.

How You Can Help!
We are asking for your help so that we can continue to support our communities during these difficult times. A donation of any size would mean a lot to the team at the Cii and will be used to provide opportunities for individuals in need.

Here is what a donation could provide:

£10 – An hour of skills training to an unemployed and disadvantaged person

£25 – Buys PPE for an individual so that they can learn safely. Lack off appropriate PPE can prevent someone from getting a job within the construction industry!

£50 – Covers the cost of 2 qualifications that can help individuals get a job and move towards financial independence

As a not-for-profit organisation, we welcome any support that you can give to us to help us reach our target of £3000! Thank you, from the team at the Cii!
