COVID-19 Mutual Aid for Unite4Action-Nigeria

Imperialist oil extraction in Nigeria has led to the near total destruction of the soil and waterways. Oil spills by large western oil corporations go unaddressed for years, making farming and fishing difficult (even impossible in some areas). This is especially true of the Niger Delta, which sees more oil spills than any other region of Nigeria.
Nigerians must therefore rely on imports. This leads to routine hunger under normal conditions, but the closing of ports due to the COVID-19 crisis means it's even more difficult to obtain necessary food and medical supplies. Beyond this induced scarcity, policing is getting more violent, with security agents killing more Nigerians than the novel coronavirus since the lockdown.

Unite4Action was actually started by our comrades in Nigeria. While there is limits to a mutual aid approach, it is crucial that we support our Nigerian comrades now more than ever. For this reason, Unite4Action-USA is starting a mutual aid campaign, with all funding going directly to our comrades in Nigeria. Please consider standing in solidarity with our revolutionary organizers in Nigeria by helping out during this global crisis.

Capitalism in Nigeria and a call for unity of the proletariat.
