COVID-19- in Uganda ( help needed immediately)

“Children’s rights foundation needs your help to reach out and help more children and families in Uganda”

As the world is struggling with the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, Uganda in particular has been hit hard, leaving many unemployed after the measures were put to prevent the spread of the virus. It is estimated that around 4 million people lost their jobs due to the pandemic leaving them starving and unable to provide for their families 

Many young girls between the age of 13-24 estimably can no-longer get access to basic needs like sanitary pads, clothes, and daily food.

It is not only girls facing this but likely boys too living in the same vicinity or homes going
through the same situation but our concern as the foundation is specifically looking at a girl
child because they at-times go through
challenges trying to acquire such necessities
including sleeping with older men who could
be affected with HIV/ AIDS, others end up
getting early pregnancies which could again
lead to early child birth or at times leads to
death since they would not be ready to go
through that at such horrific situation at very
tender age.

It should be noted that this has been the
consistent situation prior Covid 19 hitting the world and since it came, things have continued to worsen more life getting more harder to
the little girls. The victims to this are in both
Urban centers / Towns with slum areas but
also mostly in rural areas where there is high
level illiteracy, poverty, famine among other
challenges.

So for any help or hand that could be extended to “children’s rights foundation” in order to
reduce on the number of children and families  going through such challenges would be much welcomed to the foundation so that we save
more Families in Uganda . Thank you
