Covid-19 Faceshields for QEUH, Glasgow

Donation protected
Across the UK, doctors and nurses are appealing for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). At the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, an appeal was issued asking those with 3D printers to print parts for face shields.

I have responded and offered my printer to the cause and I’m currently printing as many as I can with the materials I have.

In order to print these, a 3D printer requires rolls of plastic filament.  I’m currently using what I’ve already purchased, but this will be unsustainable in the long term.

A roll of filament costs roughly £20, producing approx 22 face shields. I’m aiming for £500 to get through the next few weeks and we’ll see where we are.

If you are able to donate, I’d appreciate it immensely. The team at the QEUH is also running a 3D printer, and this filament will be shared with them if they require it.
