<div><em>My name is Karen Pennington and Covid19 has hit my financial stability very hard  As an essential worker in a veterinary hospital  for 18 years I have NEVER had to ask for any financial assistance...until Covid. Since March 2020 our hospital had several different employees come down with Covid, which caused us to have to close for a week each time. We also had a policy in place that told us we had to stay home if we had any kind of a fever and since I have some health issues that cause low grade fevers I had to stay out for days at a time (when under normal circumstances I would have gone to work) until the fever resolved. Due to those health issues I am unable to seek a second job, and consequentally I  had to use up any sick and vacation time I had accrued, as well as my whatever I had in my 401k funds just to keep going. In September 2021 I got to the point where I was forced to ask for emergency rental assistance from our county, and it took them almost a year to give me their answer. Because they had more applications than they had funds for, what they were able to give me was only a third of what I needed to become current on my rent. During the health moratorium in our county I have been paying at least 25% of my rent as instructed by them, and the moratorium has protected me from eviction, (although the owner of my mobile home park tried but I sought free legal assistance for that.) As the pandemic slowly starts to wind down, the moratorium will soon come to an end and I will have no way to pay my back rent without help. I have used any and all funds that I had available to me and have no family to ask for help. God has certainly carried me up to this point, but I am asking for ANY help you guys can give me. I can not afford the skyrocketing rents in our Bay Area, so if I were to get evicted it would be catastrophic to me -I would lose my home and my job and  would have to leave my friends and emotional support in the area which could further inmpact my health.
