Food for children in El Salvador

Thousands of families are currently facing economic vulnerability and food insecurity as a consequence of the COVID'19 pandemic and the measures taken by governments to stop the spreading of the virus.  This has directly affected El Salvador because a high percentage of the population does not have a job in the formal sector that can guarantee their income for 2 months. Over the past few weeks, we have seen how the worsening situation in El Salvador has put thousands of families at risk, many of them placing white flags outside their houses in a desperate call for food and assistance. Despite constant efforts to distribute essential food items, there are still many who are unable to provide for their families and children. We acknowledge that children have different needs, and during a global emergency, those needs should be specially protected. For these reasons, as a group of young Salvadorans, we have decided to work together and create this gofundme to support children who need appropriate nutritional foods and items according to their age. If you can spare $5, $10, $20, or even more, it would be of great help for those families.   In order to distribute all donations and prepare help kits (food and special items), we are closely working with Niñez con Futuro (Childhood with future), an initiative that aims to improve the quality and living conditions of vulnerable children in El Salvador. We really appreciate your help in supporting children in El Salvador and their nutritional health. #spreadingsolidarity ESPAÑOL  Debido a la pandemia del COVID 19 y las medidas que se deben tomar para evitar su propagación miles de familias han quedado en vulneración económica y por tanto se ha puesto en riesgo su seguridad alimentaria. El Salvador se ha visto principalmente afectado debido a que un alto porcentaje de la población no tiene un empleo formal para garantizar sus ingresos en 2 meses de cuarentena. La niñez tiene necesidades diferenciadas y en una situación de emergencia requieren protección especial. Es por ello que como jóvenes salvadoreños hemos unidos esfuerzos para crear esta campaña y recolectar fondos para apoyar a 60 niños y niñas que requieren una alimentación acorde a su edad y atenciones especiales. Por medio de las redes sociales de Niñez con Futuro se podrá dar seguimiento al manejo de los recursos que están siendo donados.
