Do you want to make a difference?

We are raising money in aid of FACES IN FOCUS and every donation will help.

We need your help to save the Faces in Focus charity. Without your help this charity will be at risk of closing.  The impact of this on the community will be that over 400 children and young adults who annually access the service, will no longer have support and counselling.

About Faces in Focus

Faces in Focus started life as the Teenage Information Network (TIN), a voluntary youth group, in 1977 in a portacabin in Manor Place, Walworth. TIN moved to our previous premises in Harper Road, Elephant and Castle in 1979. In those days TIN mainly focused on group activities for young people such as silk screen printing, photography and badge making, with counselling and information, advice and guidance running alongside them.

Like many voluntary sector organisations at the time it was run as a collective. Due to a change of circumstances in the early 1990’s, it was decided to restructure the organisation and change the focus of the organisation to a Youth Support and Counselling Service for 11-25-year-olds. Coupled with this, a management structure was introduced and with it a change of name from TIN to Faces in Focus.

The crisis caused by Covid-19 has affected everyone on the planet. There has not been a life that has not been touched by the virus. This is an adverse childhood experience for many children.  Faces in Focus have been receiving high levels of referrals for children and young adults. Many of our clients do not have money to pay for the service.

The children and young adults we work with need your support. We provide professional counselling for children aged 11 - 24. We provide them with somewhere to turn and someone to talk to about what is happening to them.

We are a group of volunteers, counsellors and non-counsellors, working as a team to provide online secure counselling to children and young adults who need it. We need your support to help us cope with the increasing number of children that require counselling in this time of crisis.

A small donation will secure many places, make more children and young adults feel that they are not being neglected and are being supported most importantly by the community.

We provide counselling and support for individulas with presenting issues such as but not limited to;
> Psychological Mental Health Condition
>Post Trauma (Adverse Childhood Experiences)
>Substance Misuse
>Abuse (Sexual, Domestic)
>Depression and Anxiety
>Covid - 19 Impact
>Suicidal Thoughts and Ideations
>Loss and Bereavement

Feedback from a service user February 2021

“Faces in Focus has saved my life. They were easy to engage with and the waiting time was far less than statutory services. I engaged with Faces in Focus when I  had consistent suicidal thoughts. I was abused on several occasions and didn't feel like I wanted to live. The counselling and support that Faces in Focus provided allowed me to work through several unwanted feelings and thoughts. I have been referring your service to many people”.
