Billboard campaign on Goldsmith Avenue using creativity to champion community within Portsmouth.

Local artists and designers show support for key and NHS workers, community heroes, and everyone on lockdown – through a series of uniquely commissioned billboard displays.
This project is intended as a gift from Portsmouth’s creative community, to all the city's residents and workers. A BIG (20ft x 10ft) 'thank you' and 'we can do this!' for such a BIG collective effort.
Give love and get love:
No artist or designer is charging for their time or materials, and many are gifting limited edition artworks for sale in the fundraising effort.
All billboards have been freely donated by Billboard Media UK who are also providing their print and installation services (including public liability insurance) to us at cost price.
We’re doing this because we’ve got big hearts, not big pockets. Because we value our city, and all the people who make it work.
In fact, the support from Portsmouth’s artists and designers has been so overwhelmingly ‘YES! WE WANT TO HELP!’ – we’ve had to display the artworks in 3 waves to be able to accommodate all the messages of hope and encouragement they want to send.
COVID-19 Art Ads Wave 1 artworks are already up!
What the project needs now is money, honey...
Each billboard costs £250 + (20%) VAT
to print and install. That’s a total: £3000
5 billboards per wave = £1,500
Which means the cost of both Waves 2 & 3 is £3,000 combined.
We as Portsmouth’s creatives are doing all we can, and the funds for Wave 1 have been amazingly donated
by the Portsmouth public – raising a staggering £3,426 in just 7 days.
We need your monetary support to make sure the next waves of COVID-19 Art Ads happen.

Your own interview feature in ‘A Different Perspective’ video from Solent Sky Services.
_Solent Sky Services (aerial and street footage film-makers) are producing ‘a uniquely shot short film capturing Portsmouth & Southsea from the sky and ground during COVID-19.’
_Supporters of our project can have an interview feature in the final film.
