Hi! I’m Daisy and I am a Milwaukee based artist. I went to an extremely expensive private school for art to follow my dreams (something I couldn’t afford and never should have done). I graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Art and have still had a difficult time finding work that I enjoy and that I’m passionate about.
Recently I’ve had an incredibly difficult time with the way my life has been turning out. I by no means have it worse than anyone else and I wouldn’t ever expect people to hand money out. These are hard times for everyone.
My roommate recently contracted COVID-19 and the testing sites in the area have been booked and aren’t taking new appointments and I’ve been unable to get tested. I have an appointment scheduled for Tuesday November 24th.
Because my roommate tested positive, I have been forced out of work and the government has been taking forever to help in any way, shape, or form. No stimulus money. No unemployment money. No COVID-19 relief pay. Without working and being able to make money I will be unable to pay my rent, get food to eat, get basic things for our home like toilet paper. Essentially will be unable to live.
I am sick of our government failing us and I am sick of constantly feeling like a failure because it seems impossible to keep my head above water.
My dreams are to make my art and designs and eventually someday put them on shirts or other clothing, etc. and to start a brand of my own that will ultimately give back. I have spent some time teaching and want to bring the youth together creatively especially in areas of poverty.
I know that art has changed my life and I think I could do something really important for the world. I just feel like I need some help getting there. I know that I’m capable. If anyone would like to help invest or donate in my business ideas it would be so unbelievably appreciated. I am so sick of working dead end jobs that get me nowhere.
I just want to do something positive for the world.
Even advice or donations of paint, brushes, etc. would be beneficial for me.
