COVID Relief for Hairstylists and Estheticians

Pape PR and Rell Communications have teamed up to create the COVID-19 Relief Fund for Hairstylists and Estheticians affected by the COVID-19 salon and spa shutdowns.

Over the last few weeks, hair salons and spas have been forced to close due to the pandemic and it has brought the professional beauty industry to a standstill, threatening the financial security of thousands of hairstylists and estheticians.  With no income and no end in sight, these workers can’t afford to pay their rent and bills. Our team has the privilege of working with some of the best beauty professionals in the business and wants to help during this difficult time.

Many salon and spa workers are self-employed and while self-employed workers are now eligible for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, salon and spa workers may not qualify if they don’t have the proper work and pay documentation.  Many will not. 

This fundraiser will provide a modest one-time stipend to as many hairstylists and estheticians as possible with the proof of a valid professional licence. We will fulfill requests based on the order they are received and the urgency of the applicant's personal situation. 

Our goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000 to help cover the cost of rent, utilities, and food. We plan to provide stipends in the one-time amount of either $500 or $1000. If we meet our goal and surpass it, we can provide relief to additional stylists and estheticians in need.

THE DETAILS

100% of funds contributed will go directly to help out-of-work hairstylists and estheticians; no additional overhead or administrative costs will be applied. The total amount distributed will depend on the amount donated. 

Donations to GoFundMe cannot be claimed as a tax write off. 

We will distribute funds via PayPal, Venmo or check and will provide records and receipts of all distributed funds on request after the campaign has closed. However, all personal, identifying information of applicants will be kept confidential. In the event that the campaign surpasses its goal and every qualified applicant has received a stipend, the remaining funds will be distributed evenly among the qualified applicants.
