....this week, lunch is on us!
As a way to say thank you to first responders, doctors, nurses, and all medical staff during this crazy time, Farmer's Table Little Italy will be opening our kitchen for take-away orders from 11am-1pm everyday through Sunday, March 22nd.
If you are a medical staff member or first responder, show your badge and we'll provide you with a free hot lunch.
Who: Any first responder or medical personnel who presents their badge or credentials
What: Free take-away pasta, protein, and salad options
Where: 550 West Date Street, San Diego, CA
When: Thursday, March 19th-Sunday, March 22nd from 11am-1pm
How can you help?
Since we made the decision to temporary close our doors, we're using all remaining items in our kitchen to prep these meals. But with such a great turnout on our first day today, we're asking for additional help to purchase ingredients and pay the staff that's currently volunteering their time to provide the service.
Just like we feel it's our duty to step up and help, we also know it's our duty to keep the community safe. We've marked the entryway to ensure these customers abide by social-distancing recommendations, and all of our staff is clad in gloves and masks.
Funds will be withdrawn by Farmer's Table Little Italy and used to purchase ingredients for the free menu items. Any remaining funds will be allocated evenly to staff, as a way to supplement their compromised income due to restaurant closure.
To add a little context, the owners of Farmer's Table and our sister restaurants in the Gaslamp all hail from Italy. Seeing how difficult this has been for family at home and feeling somewhat helpless to provide any assistance, Vincenzo, Alberto and Alessandro all agreed that the best way to help was to step up in the community they have called home for the last 3 decades.
We all feel very fortunate that we have a platform that allows us to give back. Any help that the public can provide will be greatly appreciated.
