Who we are?
Mawa's Kitchen in Aspen is a full-service restaurant and caterer serving Aspen and Snowmass Village, CO.  Our food is fresh, healthy, organic and locally sourced and created by Chef/Owner Mawa McQueen. 

Mawa was recently honored to receive the Colorado Governor's 2020 Minority Business Award for her excellence as an entrepreneur and restaurateur.  

Mawa is also a featured chef in the new Cookbook by award-winning photographer, Alan Batt, Toques in Black.

Who will Benefit?

Our amazing guests who have supported us over the years will greatly benefit from the restaurant improvements.  

Our restaurants business model used to be that our community gathers together to share food and experiences.  Our guests loved this about us.  However, with the COVID-19 regulations and mandates, we have to change this model to comply. 

The improvements include expanding our indoor dining to allow more individual tables that can be separated by the COVID 6-foot rule.  We are also improving our air ventilation system to one with Blue Light Technology that super cleans and filters the air from viruses including COVID-19.  

These improvements will allow our guests and employees to feel more safe and protected while in the restaurant.

What will the funds be used for?
The funds will be used for the restaurant improvements noted above and making our kitchen more efficient.  The improvements include expanding our indoor dining capability to allow us to separate a greater number of individual tables by the 6-foot COVID-19 rule.  We have been able to obtain the space immediately next to Mawa's Kitchen and will be taking down the wall in between.  Dining room seating will flow into the new space.

We are also improving our air filtration and ventilation system to clean the air of viruses including COVID-19.  

In addition to these improvements, we are changing the kitchen flow, repairing the Hood and adding a Rotisol Rotisserie Oven.  Improvement to the kitchen's flow will make food preparation quicker, more efficient and consistent. The Hood repair will allow better air flow and reduced noise in the cooking area since we are an open kitchen restaurant.

It has been a long time dream of Mawa to have a kitchen with a real Rotisserie Oven.  The Rotisol will allow us to make fresh rotisserie chicken, cote de boeuf, lamb, fish and vegetables in a very sexy oven.  We can't wait for you to see t when you walk in the door in November when we reopen.

How soon do we need the funds?
We need the funds for the improvements as soon as possible. 

What does your support mean to us?
Your support mean tat we will not only survive the Winter, but will be COVID proof for our guests and employees from now on.  Like all other small businesses at this difficult time, we are constantly reinventing ourselves and Mawa's Kitchen in order to be able to continue to serve you, our guests.  After all, we are here for you.
