Covid 19 Nepal for the Porters in great need

For my 65th birthday this year, I am asking for donations to support the porters in Nepal.  I was in Nepal last year, the nepali people have so little, yet offer so much kindness and are extremely hard working.   I was returning  in March this year  to trek the beautiful Himalayas. Then the global pandemic hit and I was notified by the Canadian Consulate to return home.  My trekking guide kept me well informed, the country had a lockdown.  From my previous visit the country was far from recovering from the 2015 earthquake.  The guides and porters are all seasonal workers and the only income is from tourists,  they are not well paid.  From June thru to September is monsoon season.  It will be almost a year with no income to support themselves and families.
The porters working in the Himalayas  in (Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu  region) carrying trekkers/travelers backpacks.  Some of the nepali people mention they would rather catch " COVID 19 than die of starvation".    I would like to collect as much as I can to help these needy porters.  They have given so much and would like them to have  food and supplies.  My friend Raj a professional trekking guide in Kathmandu which is currently unemployed due to lockdown.  He has made a huge contribution to the community educating the locals about washing hands with soap and water, masks, social distancing, delivering food in the rural areas in need and let's clean up Nepal.  Raj will validate the porters in need Your donation will mean so much to the porters and myself.  A little can go so far in these third world countries.  Any donation amount is never too small, every little bit helps.
