Covid 19 PPE for Homerton Hospital

The wonderful creative community of East London, are building forces to help the NHS staff at Homerton Hospital who desperately need Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to stay safe during the COVID 19 pandemic.
This initiative was started by the Parent Teacher Association at Willowbrook Primary School, Leyton to directly support parents who work at Homerton Hospital.
We are aiming to raise money to supply the hospital with much needed Visors, Masks, Gowns and Scrubs to top up the PPE they already have. Staff are doing their best with what they have but they need more and fast. We can change this and help protect the staff better, but we need your support.
We need money to buy materials to enable local designers and small scale manufacturers to make supplies locally AND if we raise sufficient funds we intend to put in orders for shipping from further afield. At the moment the minimum orders for products for international shipping are circa £30,000.
The good news is we have a team of volunteers from architects/designers to scientists/medical staff and fashion buyers keen to give back to their local community. Everyone is giving their time for free and we have started to produce visors, source scrubs and gowns to regulatory standards.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) states that nurses, midwifes and health workers are at greater risk of COVID 19 than anyone else. Please help today, if you can.
If you’ve ever been to Homerton Hospital, had an operation, been to A&E, had the support of midwifes - you’ll know how busy and hard working the staff are. This is your chance to say thank you. Your chance to make sure they too can go home to their families and loved ones as soon as possible. There’s only one NHS and it will only survive if we can look after it together.
This is an urgent appeal to ask if you can help Homerton staff with a donation for PPE today?

If you have access to a 3D printer, laser cutter, or sewing machine and would like to offer your time please email us.
If we are made aware of any further needs in PPE and we have funds, we intend to support these too.
