Extra expenses

20 years ago, Stan (my stepdad) had heart bypass surgery. Unfortunately it has come about that he needs to have another surgery but it has come with complications to where the surgeon cannot open his chest the traditional way to perform this much needed surgery. His cardiologist has had to search to find a surgeon with the knowledge and skill to perform the bypass surgery through his side between ribs. Stan and Karen, my mother, received the call today with the much needed news from Yale Hospital in New Haven, CT. They are to be in the surgeon’s office for a few tests on Monday with the surgery to follow on Wednesday. This will require them to fly from their home to Connecticut with a minimum 30 day stay. Karen will only be able to stay for roughly 2 weeks before needing to return to her job. They are dealing with the unknown as far as lodging aspects once Stan is discharged from the hospital among other restrictive aspects. We are asking anyone with a generous heart not only for prayers for a successful surgery along with a speedy recovery but any little bit to assist in covering the lodging, food, and emergencies that may arise in the process. This isn’t the easiest thing to ask of anyone because we each at any given point in our lives are dealing with hardships. We only ask that you find it in your heart to help in anyway  to make this second chance of life possible.
