Operation Cover Chicago 2020

To help 20,000 Chicagoland families give their children a gift this Christmas.
 
Another Chance is a community nonprofit organization that has been in existence for 10 years. Our mission here at Another Chance is to help develop and cultivate our community one family at a time.
 
Another Chance is embarking on “Operation Cover Chicago” to raise money for Christmas toys for 20,000 Chicagoland families with children 3-15 years old.

2020 has been a very trying year, not only for our community, but also around the world. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of over 2 million people worldwide and there is increased awareness of critical social injustices happening around us.

With the Christmas holiday season quickly approaching, it is more important than ever that we serve our community by providing 20,000 families with toys. Our biggest fear is that a child will wake up on Christmas and not have a gift to open. 
 
"Operation Cover Chicago’s" goal is to make Christmas 2020 one to remember.

Twenty seven percent (27%) of the once employed members of our community are now unemployed or underemployed. Last school year, over 50% of Chicago Public School students did not log on for e-learning and almost 5% of students are registered as homeless. Parents have to choose between safety and education, with the daunting task of deciding to send children to school with an untested curriculum, that has been introduced to teachers without proper training, giving them a failed plan that will not benefit our children.


At 7PM on December 18, 2020, we will be giving away toys to 20,000 families.

We know that this won’t solve the ongoing problems in our community, but for one day, 20,000 families can experience the joy of Christmas. 

100% of all proceeds raised will be used towards the Christmas toy giveaway. There are six ways to support “Operation Cover Chicago”:
 
               A donation of $25 will help a family of 1 receive a gift 
               A donation of $50 will help a family of 2 receive a gift 
               A donation of $100 will help a family of 4 receive a gift 
               A donation of $150 will help a family of 5 receive a gift 
               A donation of $200 will help a family of 6 receive a gift
