<div>Hi friends and family. As most of you know, about a month ago my mother and I were walking in our neighborhood, down a quiet residential street, when she was struck by a vehicle that suddenly accelerated towards us, after seemingly slowing down to let us continue crossing. When my mom was hit, she was thrown to the ground face-first.

<div>I am eternally grateful to those in the neighborhood who rushed to help my mother, kept me calm, and called an ambulance. We are extremely lucky that she didn't have any head trauma or severe injury to her limbs or spine. However, her front teeth were knocked out, her nose broken in three places, and multiple cuts on her face resulting in stitches and scarring.

<div>For those of you who may be hearing this for the first time, I am happy to tell you that my mom's recovery is going well. It is a very slow road and some days are better than others, but it truly is a miracle. That being said, the biggest strain on her throughout her recovery has been dealing with the medical bills, lawyers and insurance.
</div>
<div>My mom got legal help to make sure she was supported but the driver's insurance does not begin to cover what we had hoped it would, so my mom is having to come up with money out of pocket for her medical bills. We are trying to stay hopeful that lawyers will help lower the costs of hospital bills, CT scans, and medical appointments, but so far, it has been a very difficult road financially. The current goal is to cover the dental work.

<div>It breaks my heart to see her have to stress over how to pay the dentist to get her teeth fixed when she has gone through something as life-altering and traumatic as she has. I've made this gofundme in hopes that, with some financial support from her loved ones, she may actually be able to relax and recover from this, without worry.
