Hi everyone, I’m reaching out because my dear friend is facing an unexpected and unfair financial burden while studying abroad in Florence. Recently, a man locked himself inside the bathroom of her apartment and ended up breaking down the door from the inside.

Despite having no control over what happened, my friend was charged $600 by the apartment management to repair the damage.

This charge came completely out of nowhere and is especially hard to handle as a student abroad with limited funds. She did nothing wrong, she was simply living in her apartment when this happened, yet she’s being held financially responsible for someone else’s actions.

We’re hoping to raise enough money to cover this charge so she can focus on her studies and her safety rather than worrying about how to pay for something that isn’t her fault. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to her and to everyone who cares about her.
