Hello! My name is Olivia, and I’m a fourth-year student at Carleton University. Alongside my partners, Ben, Sierra, and Elijah, we’re raising $5,000 to refurbish the community basketball court and provide essential sports equipment and basketball hoops for youth in Longido, Tanzania.

Sports play a powerful role in youth development, encouraging teamwork, confidence, and creativity. However, the existing basketball court in Longido is in need of repairs, and many schools in the surrounding area lack basic resources such as basketball hoops and sports equipment. Without proper sporting essentials, youth miss out on the physical, social, and personal benefits that sports can provide. In April, we'll be travelling to Tanzania to help bring this project to life, and your support is key to making it happen.

Use of Funds:

We are seeking $5000 to help cover the court refurbishing supplies. More specifically the supplies includes:

Pressure washer

Acrylic primer/sealer

Acrylic paint

Silica Sand

Repair mortar

Additionally, the funds will go towards new basketball hoops and sports equipment like basketballs, jerseys, shoes, etc.

Why Your Support Matters:

With $5,000, we can improve access to sport by equipping schools with basketball hoops, supplying youth with the equipment they need to play, and conducting repairs on the constructed court. Your support will create opportunities for youth to engage in healthy, positive activities and experience the benefits of sports.

Together, our mission is to eliminate barriers and provide new opportunities for sports in Tanzania. Thank you for your support and making this project come to life.
